Counseling & Career Center
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! My name is Erik Holter and I am Wrenshall’s 7-12 School Counselor. Within this academic year, and each to follow, my goal is to promote academic, personal, and social success for all Wrenshall students.
I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2008 from The College of Saint Scholastica, then took my studies to The University of Wisconsin-Superior where I received my M.S.E. in School Counseling in 2011. I grew up in Proctor, Minnesota and recently moved back there with my wife, Emily, and our two wonderful kids Halle (8) and Ruxen (7). Outside of school I love spending time with my family and friends, being as active as possible, and working on the “endless” projects around our house.
Beyond my position as Wrenshall’s 7-12 school counselor, I am also the head cross country coach for the Carlton-Wrenshall Raptors. My passion for running has created a very unique pathway for me to establish even deeper relationships with the students I serve and strive to earn trust.
I want to assure you that I understand and hold you and your family’s privacy and confidentiality to the highest standards. It is my belief that if children can find a sense of safety, security, and understanding, they are better able to open their minds to learning, which creates a happy and healthy school environment for all to enjoy.
Despite the current uncertainty that continues to challenge us, I’m truly looking forward to a successful and energizing school year here at Wrenshall that’s full of GRIT and OPTIMISM!
WE ARE WRENSTRONG!
