Testing
Teachers use formative assessments such as the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA),
Minnesota Test of Academic Skills (MTAS)*, and Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) to monitor student progress, to screen students for interventions, and to guide instruction.
The Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English State-to-State (ACCESS) test is administered to Kindergarten through 12th-grade students who have been identified as English language learners (ELLs) to monitor students’ progress in learning academic English.
